AFTER SCHOOL CLASSES! January 10th-February 16th

Engineering for Grades K-2 — Tuesdays or Thursdays — 4:30-5:30 — $110 Students will learn what an engineer does and the many types of problems an engineer solves!  Each evening starts with a fun story and continues as we use the Engineering Design Process and the Engineering Habits of Mind to solve a problem the main character has.  (We meet for six classes, January 10/12 through February 14/16.)  CLICK HERE TO ENROLL!

Engineering for Grades 3-5 — Tuesdays or Thursdays — 6:00-7:00 — $110 Engineers must innovate, collaborate, communicate and so much more!  Students will practice these skills each evening while solving fun and exciting Engineering Design Challenges.  Students will become comfortable with the Engineering Design Process, the Engineering Habits of Mind, and see how many different types of engineers work together to solve problems and help people.  (We meet for six classes, January 10/12 through February 14/16.)  CLICK HERE TO ENROLL!

SUMMER CAMP PROGRAMS!

Introduction to Engineering — grades K-2 — June 19-23; June 26-30; July 10-14; July 17-21; and/or July 24-28 — $325 Campers will be introduced to what an engineer does and the many different problems engineers solve! Each activity begins with a story – campers then solve a problem that the main character has.  All activities rely on using the Engineering Design Process and Engineering Habits of MindCLICK HERE TO ENROLL!

Aeronautical Challenges — grades 3-5; 6-8 — June 19-23 — $425 Making things fly is our most popular week at Engineering Camp Charlotte! A multitude of engineering disciplines go into solving the problems of flight.  Our campers will work in teams while using the Engineering Design Process and Engineering Habits of mind to complete fun activities related to things that leave the ground.  CLICK HERE TO ENROLL!

Engineering in Space — grades 3-5; 6-8 — June 26-30 — $425 Many types of engineering go into space exploration! Campers will learn how different types of engineers work together to help us explore and visit what is beyond our Earth.  Campers complete engineering design challenges each day while strengthening their Engineering Design Process and Engineering Habits of Mind skills.  CLICK HERE TO ENROLL!

Mechanical Madness — grades 3-5; 6-8 — July 10-14 — $425 Machines, motors, and more!  Campers learn how mechanical engineers design and create things that we use every day.  Campers will work in teams while using the Engineering Design Process and Engineering Habits of Mind to complete challenges from the perspective of a mechanical engineer. Zap! Electrical Engineering Exploration — grades 3-5; 6-8 — July 17-21 — $425 How does electricity flow through a circuit?  How do engineers create circuits for different uses?  Campers will work in teams using the Engineering Design Process and Engineering Habits of Mind to complete fun and challenging activities through the eyes of an electrical engineer. CLICK HERE TO ENROLL!

Megastructures on Earth — grades 3-5; 6-8 — July 24-28 — $425 What goes into creating the biggest and strongest structures on Earth?  This week campers learn how civil engineers work together to create some of the most amazing megastructures ever designed.  They learn and practice the Engineering Design Process and Engineering Habits of Mind while creating their own prototypes of different structures with a variety of purposes.  CLICK HERE TO ENROLL!

Exploring the Grand Challenges — grades 9-11 — June 19-23; June 26-30; July 10-14; July 17-21 — $425 The ’14 Grand Challenges of Engineering’ are a focused collection of the greatest challenges humanity currently faces.  Campers will spend the week learning more about these challenges, learning about the engineering disciplines which are working to tackle these challenges, and begin to propose solutions of their own.  New challenges studied every summer!  CLICK HERE TO ENROLL!
